Speaker BioScott has worked with network security for over 15 years covering numerous technology areas; secure access, AAA, public key infrastructure, network and application-level encryption, security policy enforcement and formal product certification.
He has held roles in post-sales, pre-sales, consulting and product management for networking and security vendors, working with customers to resolve product implementation issues, define architectures and create solutions. Scott has contributed to security architectures and worked with industry participants, the IEFT and national assurance schemes on standards as well as driving security features into network products.
Scott has an BEng in Engineering and an MBA in Technology Management and has worked in France, the US and as well as his native UK. He joined VMware in September 2015 to work with Public Sector Accounts in the defence, intelligence and central government arena before joining the SDDC architecture team to focus on security, compliance and regulations.

Speaker BioHe is PGI's Group Director for Cyber and Technology. He leads PGI's work to build and strengthen governments' cyber capacity and capability. This includes work with a GCC government's national cyber security unit to improve critical infrastructure protection; work with British police and specialist operations units to develop a national police cyber training programme; work in the GCC to improve judges and prosecutors' understanding of cyber crime and cyber security; and work with senior law enforcement officials from Southern and Eastern African countries on regional cyber structures. Speaker BioDr. Savanid Vatanasakdakul holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of New South Wales, where she received a prestigious Australian Postgraduate Scholarship Award (APA). Her research interests include IT risk management and governance, strategic fit and alignment in information technology transfer to Asia, and implications of national culture, governance aspects in technology utilisation among organisations. She has been appointed as the editorial board member of the Journal of Global Information Technology Management, and secretary and founding committee member of SIGGreen at the Association of Information Systems. She has worked as an IT consultant for Deloitte Touch prior to entering academia. Furthermore, she has experience in teaching the IT auditing course in Australia, Germany, Thailand and Qatar.
Major General Arthur Denaro

Speaker BioDuring his distinguished career, Major General Arthur Denaro's appointments have included Commandant at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Middle East adviser to the Secretary of State for Defence and Chief of Staff of the UN Protection Forces during the Balkans conflict. Among his recent appointments, Major General Denaro was Trustee of the Prince's Trust and adviser to the courts of the Emir of Qatar. He is a Deputy Lieutenant for Herefordshire and an Extra Equerry to HRH the Prince of Wales.
Major General Arthur Denaro CBE speaks with experience and great insight on how to motivate, inspire and lead others in testing times.
Major General Denaro's distinguished career began when he was commissioned into the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars; his life as a young officer included being involved with clandestine operations worldwide with UK Special Forces.
Prestigious appointments during his career included commanding his Regiment in the War to Liberate Kuwait, and becoming Chief of Staff of 44,000 troops during the Balkans conflict. The UN Protection Forces in the Balkans were drawn from no less than 31 different nations and they had to operate in a particularly complex and often cruel environment. Major General Denaro's role included ensuring international relations were maintained despite fraught and often-dangerous events, including the vital military link between Koffi Annan, who was then UN Special Adviser to the Balkans, and the military on the ground.
He was awarded the OBE in the Gulf War Honours List and the CBE in 1995 following the Balkans Conflict. Other appointments of note during his career have included Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of British Forces Cyprus.
Between 1997-2000, Major General Denaro was Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where British and overseas graduates were being trained as the future leaders of their 'beloved soldiers'. He was also the Middle East adviser to the Secretary of State for Defence and the Chief of Defence Staff for six years until 2002.

In his role as Under Secretary for Cyber Security-QCERT, Qatar's National Program that safeguards the country's information and communications systems. Dr. Mohammed Al-Dorani

Speaker BioDr. Al-Dorani graduated from the George Washington Graduate School of Business with particular emphasis on technology. The subject of his doctorate thesis was on developing a central information system database for the Six Gulf Countries. After Dr. Al-Dorani attained his Ph.D., he was appointed by his government of Qatar, to represent that nation at the Gulf Cooperation Council located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Dorani served as "The Director of Computers, Post, Telegraph, and Telecommunication" for the Six Gulf Nations, remaining in his work there for eight years. While having a full-time job at the GCC, he taught senior courses at the Computer Science College at King Saud University in Riyadh. Also, he consulted at Sabic and Al-Yamama Publishing on computing and networking systems. He then left Qatar and became the Acting CEO for the Iridium project of the Middle East sector. These include the award winning Cyber Essentials scheme, which assesses basic levels of cyber hygiene; and the CREST, Bank of England and Government project to develop the STAR and CBEST Schemes that are designed to provide higher levels of assurance for critical parts of the UK financial services and other parts of the critical national infrastructure. He also helped to develop and implement the UK Government CIR (Cyber Incident Response) and CREST Cyber Security Incident Response (CSIR) schemes.

In 2016, Phil was invited to present to 4 star generals and members of the US intelligence community, as well as professors and industry experts from around the world at a 3 day cyber security event at Pentagon City outside Washington DC. TokenOne was then invited to the US National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence which is run by the National Institute of Standards and Technology for the United States (or “NIST” for short).
Then, in June 2017, TokenOne was selected by NIST for a consortium project at the same US Center of Excellence alongside industry giants RSA and Splunk.
Now, 14 months later, TokenOne has just become the first cybersecurity company in Asia, let alone Australia, ever to successfully complete such a project and has been written up in NIST’s published draft guidelines for Multifactor Authentication for Electronic Commerce in the United States.
Phil has previously held founding and leadership roles in several security-related technology companies and holds an honours degree in English Literature from the University of Western Australia.

Mr. Hassan extended his services to positively impact the Qatari and the international community as being a chairman of the board of trustees in AL Mahd International School (Doha/Qatar) providing valuable insights on school’s performance as well as being a technical advisor for some of the leading companies in UK, France, Malaysia and Australia.
Mr. Hassan worked in the UK and France prior joining QIIB in 2012, starting with some technical roles before moving to IT Service Management and IT Governance. Mr. Ali Rashid Al Mohannadi

Speaker BioGuillermo Christensen is a partner in the White Collar Defense & Government Investigation Group and Chair of the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice at Brown Rudnick. Guillermo advises multinational corporate clients on various enterprise risks involving information systems security and data security ("cybersecurity") and insider threats to corporate systems. He has conducted confidential internal investigations relating to cybersecurity incidents, allegations of foreign corruption, and violations of export controls and economic sanctions. Guillermo regularly represents clients seeking to secure approvals from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) for acquisitions of U.S. businesses by foreign buyers involving national security issues. In all these areas, Guillermo brings a wealth of international business, intelligence, and national security experience to his practices and provides his clients with broader perspectives for troubleshooting complex and unusual problems.
In the government, Guillermo was a CIA intelligence officer and a diplomat with the U.S. State Department. From 2001 to 2002, he was also the CIA Fellow to the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, an intelligence community position designated for officers on the cusp of the most senior responsibilities. From 2002 to 2004, Guillermo was on loan from the CIA to the FBI and to a national counterterrorism fusion center to help improve intelligence collection and analysis of emerging threats. Speaker BioAzzam Sleit is currently working as a Research Professor at KINDI Center for Computing Research, Qatar University. He is a Former Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Jordan (2013-2015). Before that, he worked as a Professor of Computer Science, King Abdulla II School for Information Technology, University of Jordan, where he functioned as the Dean (2015-2016) and the Assistant President/Director of the Computer Center (2007-2009). In April 2016, Prof. Sleit competed for the presidency of the University of Jordan and made it to the final top three candidates. Before joining the University of Jordan in 2005, Dr. Sleit was the Chief Information Officer at Hamad Medical/ Ministry of Public Health, Qatar. Dr. Sleit has over twenty five years of experience and leadership working at all levels of government, private and international sectors. Before joining Hamad Medical, Dr. Sleit was the Vice President of Strategic Group & Director of Professional Services of Triada, USA, where he introduced the NGram Technology and Associative Memory Structures. The application of NGram technology helped Ford Motor Company to identify patterns of auto-parts failure and State of Michigan to recognize patterns of child abuse. Dr. Sleit served as the Regional Manager of Professional Services with Information Builders, USA. He oversaw six branches in the Midwest region of the United States with responsibility for program design and oversight of all projects in the region. From 1993 to 1996, Dr. Sleit was in charge of MetSource, a strategic unit of Metlife responsible for providing outsourced IT health insurance services for large companies such as AT&T, ABB. Dr. Sleit has participated in numerous research activities related to Cloud Computing, Imaging Databases, Data Mining, Health and Management Information Systems and Software Engineering. He authored more than one hundred refereed research papers published in reputable journals and conferences. Since 1987, Dr. Sleit has taught Computer Science courses at various universities in the United States and Middle East maintaining high teaching standards. Dr. Sleit holds B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science. He received his Ph.D. in 1995 from Wayne State University, Michigan.
